We will be reducing the amount of carbon emissions and improve our financial status. Wind is the first step, then we will move onto biogas to again reduce costs and carbon.
Helping to grow Luverne by adding jobs to our facility and hiring new contractors. This program also has the potential for a future “microgrid” for electricity.
We all know the wind isn't going away any time soon in Rock County, so we will harness what is given to us and help the environment along the way.
Wind is just a stepping stone, Gevo Energy will then begin working on the next phase of decarbonizing our Luverne plant and will work on a biogas digester. This will benefit farmers and the community.
It will lower our electricity costs so we can continue to operate and be a viable company. Affording us the luxury of staying in Luverne.
